PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Just when it seemed like Stuart Skinner had established himself as the number one goalie, an injury keeps him out of starting Sunday against Florida.
Skinner was apparently hit by a puck on the bench during the Pens 9-4 win Saturday over Florida. Officially the injury is defined 'upper body'.
Arturs Silovs will start against Florida for a second straight game in back-to-back days. Silovs gave up four goals on 23 shots Saturday.
25-year-old Taylor Gauthier was recalled quickly before the game. He has never played in the NHL. In 33 games with Wheeling in the ECHL he had a 2.00 goals against average and .932 save percentage.
We will update with a new story with more information after the game.
