Former Penguins forward Tyler Kennedy says one of his favorite moments of his career is fighting Rangers’ Sean Avery at center ice at Madison Square Garden.

Why? Because he says Avery was a “d*ck.”

Talking to The Fan Morning Show, Kennedy says the fight at MSG was a “cool” moment for his career.

“Madison Square Garden, squared up, center ice, I just again, it’s one of those cool, cool rinks that you have to say you played in before your career is done,” said Kennedy

Asked if Avery was as big a jerk as people thought Kennedy had a simple answer.

“Yeah…like he was such a d*ck,” said Kennedy.

Kennedy adds that he fought Avery four or five times over his career and was only able to beat him once or twice.

“You don’t be a pest for so long without knowing all those little tricks of how to fight, or when to fight or all the little dirty tricks he knew,” said Kennedy.

He says his friends back home still give him hell for the fights because Avery is also a model.

“All my buddies from back home are like, oh my God, he’s like a model and he beat you up for times’,” said Kennedy.

Kennedy thought he would be able to handle Avery but admits he was deceiving.

“When he grabbed me, it was like my dad grabbed me, he had that old man strength and he was strong and I was more or less just swing for the fences hopefully one hits him,” said Kennedy.
