PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) It's been a little over 24 hours since a new collective bargaining agreement was reached for Major League Baseball, and the season is set to start on April 7.
That gives teams only a couple of weeks to sign free agents, have a camp, and fill out a full roster.
The Pittsburgh Pirates have been hyping up their prospect pool for some time, and now they will have a chance to prove their worth.
The Pirates announced 28 non-roster players have been invited to their Major League camp.
Among those 28 names are top prospects catcher Henry Davis, infielder Mason Martin, and pitcher Quinn Priester.
Infielders Ji-hwan Bae and Nick Gonzales, outfielders Hunter Owen and Matt Fraizer, and pitchers Cody Bolton and Blake Weiman are also among the invites.
The full list features a good chunk of the future of the Pirates and players fighting for a spot in the MLB.
The Pirates have set their Home Opener for April 12 and maybe fans will see some of these names on the starting roster.
