PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Activated on Tuesday afternoon from the Injured List, first-year Pirates outfielder Jhostynxon Garcia hit three home runs for AAA Indianapolis on Tuesday night.
Coming back from lower back tightness, the 6’, 224-pound Garcia hit three home runs in five games for Class A Bradenton leading up to rejoining the Indians.
Tuesday night at the Louisville Bats (Reds AAA team):
- 107.3mph, 437-foot solo home run to center in the first inning
- 109.9mph, 393-foot solo home run to left-center in the third inning
- 113.5 mph, 374-foot solo home run to left-center in the fifth inning
The 23-year-old right-handed hitting outfielder would add a couple of singles going 5 for 5 in his first game back with AAA.
A Top 100 prospect by MLB.com, Garcia, nicknamed ‘The Password’, was acquired from the Boston Red Sox along with right-handed pitcher Jesus Travieso for pitchers Johan Oviedo and Tyler Samaniego and catcher Adonys Guzman.
