Changes coming to PiratesFest with impending winter storm

The impending winter storm has forced the Pirates to adjust Saturday’s PiratesFest at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.

The team says with travel becoming difficult due to the large storm, several players originally scheduled to appear will no longer be able to.

Those players, as of Friday afternoon, unable to make it include Joey Bart, Jhostynxon Garcia, Brandon Lowe, Ryan O’Hearn, Bryan Reynolds and Dennis Santana.

All Autograph sessions will still take place as originally planned with some of the sessions missing those unable to make it.

In addition, PiratesFest will now end an hour earlier at 5 p.m.

The Pirates say donations for “ALL autograph sessions will be fully refunded.”

Those refunds will be made automatically in the coming days. If you made a donation for autographs, you’re asked to keep your ticket so you can take part in your designated session.

The Pirates said in a release:

These decisions were made after consultation with trusted area weather services, and with an emphasis on using an abundance of caution. We understand this is disappointing to many of our fans attending on Saturday, especially those planning to see certain players, but the safety and well-being of everyone involved is our top priority, and these decisions were made with that in mind.
