If you’re going to the Pirates home opener on Friday, Andrew McCutchen and some other former players have a request… wear black.

Former catcher Michael McKenry pointed out that the voice of the Pirates, Greg Brown, was saying how cool it would be to have a blackout opening day.

“The Fort” said that the fans should do it to welcome back Cutch home along with former pitcher A.J. Burnett and catcher Russell Martin.

All three were important parts of the 2013 season that say Martin take Reds Johnny Cueto deep after the fans made the Cincinnati pitcher drop the ball.

And McCutchen is all for it, saying on Twitter “Not gonna lie a #PNCBlackout412 would go craaazy! 1 of the many reason I love this city.”

Burnett threw his support behind the blackout with a tweet of his own.

First pitch against the Chicago White Sox is scheduled for 4:12 p.m.
