Emotional McCutchen get hit on first pitch back at PNC Park

It doesn't get much better than this.

Andrew McCutchen, emotional after a long-standing ovation from the Pirates faithful, composed himself and swung at the first pitch he saw, a single past the second baseman.

While he would be thrown out trying to steal second, it was still a pretty special moment for Cutch.

"Let's and gentleman, please join me in welcoming home, number 22 Andrew McCutchen," the PA announcer said over the loud speaker.

A sustained standing ovation lasted over a minute for Cutch while fans clapped, cheered and shouted "M-V-P."

The moment got to McCutchen, who got a little emotional while the umpire obviously allowed for the pitch clock to be ignored.

McCutchen would go on to get a hit in his second at bat, a single to left field.

It was also special for Cutch before the game.

His mother once again sang the National Anthem.

Cutch also talked before the game about how excited he was for his kids to see him play for the team he started with.

His children and wife Maria were blowing kissed to McCutchen while he was applauded.
