PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Battling back from elbow injuries and surgeries over the last couple of years, the Pirates announced Thursday Endy Rodriquez was being sent to AAA Indianapolis.
In 2022, Rodriguez was the Pirates minor league player of the year after hitting .323, .407 on-base percentage with a .997 OPS, 39 doubles, 25 home runs and 95 RBI. The next season Rodriguez would taste MLB and in 57 games hit .220 with 12 extra base hits. Over the last two seasons, the switch-hitter has played only 36 games as he’s spent more time rehabbing.
The 25-year-old can play first base along with catcher.
There are now 37 players in training camp with a week left before the season starts.
