PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) A key member of the Pittsburgh Pirates roster will return to the lineup after a small stint on the injured list.
The Pirates announced that infielder Ke'Bryan Hayes has been activated from the 10-day IL.
In order to make room for Hayes on the roster the Pirates optioned infielder Kevin Padlo to Triple-A Indianapolis.
Padlo played three games with the Pirates and failed to collect a single hit in 11 plate appearances.
The Pirates were Padlo's third MLB of the 2022 season after also suiting up for the Seattle Mariners and San Francisco Giants.
Hayes has played in 103 games with a .251 batting average and six home runs.
Pirates catcher Jose Godoy also cleared waivers and will also report to Triple-A Indianapolis.
