We’ll have to wait another season for Andrew McCutchen’s 300th home run.

Primarily a designated hitter, McCutchen has a partially torn Achilles tendon.

He will spend the next six weeks a walking boot, ending his season, first reported by the Post-Gazette's Jason Mackey.

The Pirates will officially put McCutchen on the 10-day injury list.

Pirates Director of Sports Medicine Todd Tomczyk says, as of now, the injury will not require surgery.

He left the game against the Milwaukee Brewers with Achilles tightness on Monday and after the game said, “I’m fine” on social media.

McCutchen was a solid player for the Pirates in his return season.

He hit .256 with 12 home runs, 43 RBI, 11 stolen bases and 55 runs with 100 hits and an OPS of .776.

McCutchen has said he doesn’t plan to retire and will play at 37-years-old in 2024.

It’s unknown where McCutchen will play or if this injury will affect his decision to return, but if it’s up to Pirates owner Bob Nutting, he can play in Pittsburgh as long as he wants to.

“Andrew should stay a Pirate as long as he wants to,” Nutting told The Post-Gazette’s Jason Mackey back in July.

McCutchen has also expressed his desire to stay in Pittsburgh, where his wife and children live.
