The Pirates have added a good boy to their organization.
The team has announced they have a new “team dog” and they want you to help name it.
Voting is now through May 3 and you have four names to choose from.
“Homer”, “Bucco”, “Rookie” and “Jolly” are your four choices.
Bucco is currently leading as of Tuesday afternoon with 65 percent.
The addition of the pup is part of a collaboration between the Pirates and “Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs” to provide a military veteran in the Pittsburgh area with help.
The dog will be brought to games throughout the season for training. Fans will be encouraged to engage with the dog to help it get “the socialization it needs while it is young.”
Once the dog is trained it will join his “FURever home” with a military veteran.
While the four names to choose from are all great, some online have had their own ideas, including “Barky Vaughan”, “Wagner”, “JT Brubarker” and “Willie”.
