PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Originally feared it could be a month-long absence, outfielder/first baseman Ryan O’Hearn returned from the injured list on Sunday.
O’Hearn suffered a moderate right quad strain against the Phillies on May 16 and was played on the 10-day injured list the next day.
In his first year with the Pirates, O’Hearn is hitting .289 with a .827 OPS with six doubles, seven home runs and 29 RBI.
The left-handed hitter signed a two-year, $29 million contract in the offseason after playing for the Royals, Orioles and Padres. The 32-year-old is on pace to set career highs in home runs and RBI.
