PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) The third and final day of the 2022 MLB Draft is underway and the Pittsburgh Pirates continue to add pitchers.
In the 11th round (320 overall) the Pirates chose pitcher Dominic Perachi from Salve Regina University in Rhode Island.
The 12th round (350 overall) saw the Pirates take K.C. Hunt from Mississippi State.
The pitching trend continued into the 13th round (380 overall) when they took Miguel Fulgencio from Cowley County Community College of Kansas.
The Pirates didn't stop there as another pitcher was taken in the 14th round (410 overall); Julian Bosnic from the University of South Carolina.
Perachi made 11 appearances during his 2022 season and held a 9-1 record and put up 120 strikeouts.
With 71.2 innings pitched, Perachi's K/9 reached 15.07.
Hunt is a relief pitcher with Mississippi State and has reached 15 innings pitched in 14 appearances.
Through the 15 innings, Hunt has tossed 15 strikeouts, holds an 4.80 ERA, and opposing batters have a .267 batting average.
Originally a running back at Oklahoma State University, Fulgenico transferred to Cowley County and became a left-handed relief pitcher.
Fulgenico picked up a 7-0 record with five saves in 46.1 innings; if he doesn't turn pro he will be transferring back to Oklahoma.
In 2022, Bosnic picked up a 4-2 record in 22 games played and a 2.84 ERA.
