The Pirates added another first baseman to try out in Spring Training on Tuesday.
Pittsburgh claimed Lewin Diaz off waivers from the Miami Marlins.
But that isn't the only move they made.
According to the MLB Transactions page, the Pirates designated short stop Hoy Park for assignment.
In 68 games with the Pirates over the past two seasons, Park has a .202 batting average with 36 hits, 20 RBI and five home runs. He walked 22 times and struck out 53 times, slugging .346 with an on-base percentage of .291.
