The Pirates have made a series of moves before their second game in Boston on Tuesday evening.

Catcher Austin Hedges has been placed on the 7-day Concussion Injured List.

Taking his spot on the roster is catcher Tyler Heineman from the Triple-A Indianapolis Indians.

To make room for Heineman on the Pirates' 40-man roster, right-handed pitcher Edwin Uceta has been designated for assignment.

Outfielder Ryan Vilade who was DFA'ed last week cleared waivers.

He has been assigned to Indianapolis.

Heineman batted .136 in Spring Training with three hits in 22 at bats.
