PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) Following the first game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Cincinnati Reds, the Pittsburgh Pirates optioned pitcher Roansy Contreras to Triple-A Indianapolis.
Contreras pitched in the first game of the doubleheader; he went six innings, tossed seven strikeouts and surrendered only one earned run on his way to a victory.
He improved his MLB record for 2022 to 3-2 in nine starts.
Pitcher Eric Stout was called up from Triple-A Indianapolis to take the spot on the roster.
Stout has pitched in five innings with the Indians this year hitting a 1.80 ERA.
