Pirates prospect grateful after daughter born 6 weeks early

Pirates prospect Travis Swaggerty has missed a majority of the season due to a shoulder injury that he had surgery one.

But that isn’t what is on the outfielder’s mind right now.

Swaggerty and his wife Peyton welcomed their baby girl on September 12, but Sutton was six weeks premature.

But it’s all good news for the family.

“After 5 long days in the NICU, we are so happy and blessed that she is healthy & now home with us,” said Swaggerty in a tweet. “She truly is our everything & more…Sutton Hollie, you are so loved.”

Anyone who has had a baby arrive early knows how stressful the situation can be.

Swaggerty played in only 12 games in 2021, he batted .220 with 9 hits in 41 at bats with three home runs and seven RBI.
