According to a report, the Pirates are in talks to try and acquire some depth at third baseman.
Boston Red Sox beat writer Chris Cotillo reports the Pirates are "looking at infield depth options and have been in talks with Emmanuel Rivera."
Rivera played for the Baltimore Orioles last year and was designated for assignment three different times in 2025.
The 29-year-old as a career batting average of .345 with and OPS of .664 over 382 games.
He has 260 hits, 116 RBI 85 walks and 253 strike outs over 1,169 career games.
He hit .250 over 42 games last year in Baltimore.
Rivera was drafted in the 19th round of the 2015 MLB Draft by the Kansas City Royals.
The Pirates could offer Rivera a minor league deal.
