The Pirates have placed bullpen pitcher Chris Devenski on the 15-day injured list due to an “undisclosed illness”.
Right-hand pitcher Cam Sanders, who was places on the Pirates taxi squad on Wednesday, has been recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Devenski just completed a two-game suspension after the MLB said he intentionally threw at Reds’ batter Sal Stewart this past Saturday.
This will be Sanders’ third stay with the Pirates in 2026. He has appeared three times with the Pirates, giving up four runs over two full innings pitched.
Sanders has 17 strikeouts over 8.2 innings pitched with the Indians this season with a 5.19 ERA.
