PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – With the news of Konnor Griffin hitting the injured list and likely for 60 days, the Pirates added a former Bucco and assigned him to AAA.
Left-hand hitting outfielder Joshua Palacios gets a minor-league deal and is active Tuesday night at AAA Indianapolis.
Now 30, Palacios played 91 games for the Pirates in 2023 and 23 in 2024. In ’23, the Brooklyn native hit .239 with a .692 OPS with nine doubles and 10 home runs in 247 at bats at the MLB level.
Last season Palacios played 51 games with the White Sox hitting .203 with three home runs.
Palacios signed with an Independent team (Staten Island) this season, in 39 games hitting .339 with a 1.055 OPS with nine doubles and eight home runs.
