Pirates manager Don Kelly has been suspended one game and pitcher Chris Devenski gets three games after an incident during Saturday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds.
The MLB handed the suspensions down on Tuesday ahead of the Pirates’ three-game series in Arizona.
Devenski is suspended for intentionally throwing at Reds infielder Sal Steward in the seventh inning Saturday.
The suspensions also come with undisclosed fines.
Devenski say he wasn’t trying to hit Stewart but was ejected from the game.
It’s unknown if any appeals will be made.
Kelly will miss Tuesday night’s game against the Diamondbacks, with bench coach Kristopher Negron likely take over managerial duties.
