According to MLB.com, the Pirates are calling up the organization’s #4 prospect Hunter Barco.
The left-handed pitcher is expected to make his MLB debut before the season ends this weekend, reports Alex Stumpf.
Barco is the 82nd overall prospect in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline.
The 24-year-old is 4-1 over 27 games (23 starts) across Double-A Altoona and Triple-A Indianapolis this season.
He has a 2.81 ERA with 116 strikeouts over 99.1 innings and a WHIP of 1.20.
The Pirates travel to Cincinnati for three games beginning Tuesday and wrap up the season in Atlanta this weekend.
