According to Post-Gazette Pirates insider Noah Hiles, the team has placed infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa on outright waivers.
Hiles says IKF can continue to play for the Bucs “throughout this process.”
Teams primed for the postseason can claim Kiner-Falefa throughout the weekend.
The 30-year-old is hitting .268 with and OPS of .641 over 117 games this year.
The Pirates acquired Kiner-Falefa in a trade with the Toronto Blue Jays at the 2024 trade deadline in exchange for minor league infielder Charles McAddo and cash considerations.
Kiner-Falefa is on the final year of his contract.
