PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) You've been told time and time again, the future it bright for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

It may seem far fetched since fans have been hearing that since at least the turn of the century, but things are better than ever in the Bucco's system.

With 2022 Spring Training underway, MLB Pipeline curated a list of the top 100 prospects in Major League Baseball.

The Pirates were one of three teams to have six players make the list.

2B Nick Gonzales (20)

C Henry Davis (24)

SS Oneil Cruz (26)

RHP Quinn Priester (54)

RHP Roansy Contreras (71)

SS Liover Peguero (79)

Each of the six names listed are getting close to reaching the bigs or are already listed on the Pirates' 40-man roster.

Cruz, Peguero, and Contreras are currently on the Pirates' 40-man, while the other three were given non-roster invites for major league camp.

MLB Pipeline placed Gonzales as the highest rated second base prospect in the MLB and was given some playing time in the Pirates opening Spring Training matchup.

While Henry Davis is still a couple of years away from being MLB ready, Pirates fans won't have to wait long to see a number of these top prospects.

Cruz made his MLB debut in 2021 and did it by knocking a homerun in one of his two big league games.

Contreras also made his MLB debut in 2021, pitching three innings in a late September game for the Pirates.

Gonzales is predicted to have a 2022 ETA by MLB Pipeline.

Priester and Peguero are predicted to reach in 2023; and Davis in 2024.

Add these names to a roster that already features Bryan Reynolds and Ke'Bryan Hayes, the Pirates could give teams across the league a run for their money.
