According to multiple reports, Pirates’ first baseman Spencer Horwitz is heading to the injured list.

Several people, including the Post-Gazette’s Colin Beazley, are reporting infielder Jack Brannigan is being called up from Double-A Altoona.

Shortstop Konnor Griffin is back in Pittsburgh after a rehab stint in Altoona on Wednesday.

Horwitz left Wednesday’s game in the bottom of the fourth inning, with Esmerlyn Valdez coming in to pinch-hit. He is going on the 10-day IL.

Horwitz left the game with left hamstring discomfort.

Brannigan is hitting .231 with an OPS of .864 over 147 at-bats across four minor league rehab stints in FCL, Bradenton, Greensboro and Altoona.

Brannigan broke his nose early in Spring Training.

He has 11 home runs, 21 RBI and seven doubles.

Brannigan has yet to make his MLB debut and is ranked the Pirates’ 22nd top prospect in the minors.

Griffin is expected to have a day off today and could return to the Pirates lineup as early as Friday when they host the Cincinnati Reds at PNC Park.
