PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – With the depth chart seemingly set at tight end the Steelers added more depth at the position. What to know about veteran MyCole Pruitt?

First thing to know is he has a friend in the new Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith. After playing for Arthur Smith at Tennessee, he left to join him the last two seasons in Atlanta. He played in all 17 games in 2023 starting eight.

The 6'2", 245 pounder hasn't had a lot of action in his career--71 receptions, 748 yards, 12 touchdowns in nine seasons. Last season he had nine catches for 110 yards after career-highs in yards (150), receptions (16) and touchdowns (four) with the Falcons in 2022. Pruitt's highest number of snaps is 44% and last year the 32-year-old played in 36%, lowest since 2018.

He was ranked as the eighth best receiving tight end in 2023 ahead of Darren Waller, Kyle Pitts, Dalton Schultz, David Njoku, Pat Freiermuth and others.

Pruitt will play on kick teams. He played 26% of the special teams snaps in 2023.

A fifth-round pick of the Vikings in 2015, Pruitt has played with the Vikings, Bears, Texans, Titans and Falcons.
