Michael Perez hit a homer to right-center field on Thursday afternoon to bring the Pirates to within one of the Chicago Cubs, but that wasn't the highlight of the homer.
As the ball sailed over the fence, a young Bucco fan, with glove in hand, reached out to catch the homer.
The kid was greeted with high-fives and fists from those around him while Perez trotted the bases.
Color commentator Bob Walk even pointed out the great catch by the kid on the AT&T television broadcast of the game.
It was a feel good moment that some fans were not ready to acknowledge after Will Craig had an all-time blunder in the third inning of the game.
But for that young child, it's a day he'll never forget and ultimately is what baseball is all about.
