The Pittsburgh Riverhounds have been forced to cancel their playoff match scheduled for Sunday, as well as the remainder of their season.

The cancelations come as a result of multiple COVID cases within the Riverhounds team and no way of safely traveling for their match.

The amount of cases on the team would also not allow the team to field a full team.

The match was scheduled for Sunday in Birmingham, Ala. against the Birmingham Legion FC.

Due to the cancelation, Legion FC will advance to the next round of the playoffs, cutting the Riverhounds seasons short.

"I'm gutted right now for Bob Lilley, his staff and our players to have the season end like this after all their hard work," Riverhounds owner Tuffy Shallenberger said. "I'm also disappointed for our fans, who have been behind us all season. I hate to see our season end this way, but we're going to come back even stronger next season.”
