PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Aaron Rodgers discussed how much he loved Guinness on tap before he left. Before practice in Ireland on Friday, Rodgers addressed a number of questions from international and Pittsburgh reporters.

Here are the highlights.

Question-what was it like to join the team you beat in a Super Bowl?

“That was a long time ago. That was 14 years ago, the only person directly impacting the game from that Super Bowl was Mike Tomlin. There aren’t a lot of people that, thankfully, memory of that or bitterness towards myself about that.”

Question-have you had a Guinness yet?

“I like my Guinness on tap. I haven’t seen any taps around here. Years ago, I was on the island, in a different country on this island, and had to go to four different bars to find Guinness on tap, I hope it’s not that way tonight.”

Question-being a part of a landmark NFL game & playing for Steelers

“I’m a historian of the League. I’ve seen how far it’s come. I used to watch highlights on an old VHS tape. I know the history of the league. I was fortunate to play for an organization for 18 years that has a tradition of excellence going back to the first Super Bowl and before that when there were world championships and Coach Lombardi. Now playing at another great organization that has a history of excellence that dominated the ‘70s. It’s special to be a part of.”

Question-playing in front of fans who may not know football?

“The fans have been great, they love to cheer. Sometimes they are not sure when to cheer. I’m a fan of soccer, football if you will over here, the normal fanbase likes to cheer when your team has the ball. In (American) football, we like it when the team you are cheering for, if you have the ball, to be quiet so we can operate at the line of scrimmage.”

“To bring the number on sport in the country to a country like Ireland is really special just to let the sports fans see what the number one sport in America is and why it’s the number one sport.”

Question-do you know how much this much means to the Steelers organization?

“You know Art got up and talked starting the meeting on Wednesday about how excited he was to get over here and be part of this game. I know it means a lot to him and the family. It’s a great family and great organization. I know how much the win would mean to the family.”

Question-getting to play a game in Ireland, Rodgers mentioned he has family from here

“I’m a huge fan of Guinness, I don’t really drink beer, when I do I drink Guinness. That’s not a bull---- line that I’m telling you guys because I’m in Ireland. That’s the truth, I heard it tastes different off the tap in Ireland. I’m excited to see what it tastes like here.”
