Ahkello Witherspoon returned to practice with squad on Wednesday after virtually missing the entirety of the season.

The veteran cornerback has been on the Reserve/Injured List since December 3rd when he came down with a hamstring injury.

Hew missed two chunks of games after his return in week 8, only to reaggravate the same injury on a bye week.

Witherspoon has a 21-day window to return from the Reserve/Injured List, which will stretch past the current season. If he isn’t able to make it back this week against the Ravens or next week, He may return in the Wild Card game (if the Steelers make the postseason), otherwise he will remain on the IR.

“I can help where ever they need me to I don’t have any perimeters or any goals,” Ahkello said on Wednesday, “Wherever I can help I’ll step in and contribute helping this team win, I’m gonna do that. I’ve been excited and antsy all week knowing I have an opportunity to put on a helmet and cleats and see some football happen in front of me.”

He’s only been able to take part in four games this season, in which he started, garnering 20 tackles with 17 solo, two passes defended, and one interception.
