Could Trubisky's time in Pittsburgh soon be over?

Philip G. Pavely-USA TODAY Sports

Mitch Trubisky has been on a lot of Steelers fans minds, mainly whether or not he'll be on the team's roster next season.

Will he be cut for salary reasons, traded for picks, or be the primary backup for a growing Kenny Pickett?

Gerry Dulac of the Post-Gazette talked about the Trubisky on his Steerlers chat today saying the Steeers could likely get a 4th round, maybe even 3rd round pick if he was traded.

If that was the case, it'd be a sure fire move the Steelers should take for a guy that went 2-3 with 4 TDs and 5 INTs.

Dulac also noted that Trubisky may not be the happiest here in Pittsburgh since losing his job to Pickett, which prompts a move even more.

Poni highlighted the Trubisky discussion on The PM Team on 93.7 The fan, saying saving $4-5 million could be the difference between keeping Cam Sutton or brining in a left tackle and linebacker, "You save money where you can in a cap sport, Mitch Trubisky is a luxury at this point."

There are plenty of options out there if the team decides to move on from Mitch, like Bridgewater or Minshew.

Rooney has said he wants to keep Trubisky, but it could prove too steep of a price to pay ($8 million) for a guy that will barely see time, barring an injury.
