Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy announced that defensive tackle Derrick Harmon will be going on injured reserve.
That means the Steelers will be without one of their best defensive linemen and run stoppers for at least a month.
Harmon was carted off the field on Thursday night in Cleveland after he was injured early in the first quarter.
He was later seen in a walking boot and was ruled out with a foot injury.
Harmon had eight tackles in Week Two against new England and had the strip sack that clinched the game for the Steelers against the Bengals in Week Three.
Harmon is the Steelers 2025 first-round draft pick and already had a total of 12 tackles before his injury.
Other injuries:
While it’s been reported that corner Jamel Dean would miss a couple of weeks, McCarthy would not rule him out yet for the Indianapolis game.
Safety DeShon Elliott and tailback Rico Dowdle each went through a workout last week and McCarthy was encouraged. However, the Steelers head coach would not put a timeline on either players’s return.
