PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – He earned the nickname 'angry man' and Mike Tomlin praised the demeanor he brings to the nickel position, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reporting on Wednesday the Steelers will release corner Arthur Maulet.

The 5'10" cornerback played 17 games for the Steelers in 2022 with six starts. The 29-year-old had an interception, three passes defended, 59 tackles with a pair of tackles for loss. He played 45% of the Steelers defensive snaps last year after playing 35% the season before. Maulet also played about a third of the special teams snaps.

Steelers added veterans Patrick Peterson and Chandon Sullivan and drafted two corners (Joey Porter, Junior and Cory Trice) last month.
