PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Steelers announced before practice on Thursday they activated safety Minkah Fitzpatrick from the COVID list.

“Oh, I’m happy about it,” said Steelers defensive coordinator Keith Butler.  “I’m real happy about it.  The possibility of getting other guys back too, that helps.  That means a lot to us because they are used to playing with each other.  It will be better for us, no doubt.”

Butler confirmed Fitzpatrick will practice on Thursday and see how it goes.

Fitzpatrick missed the game against the Chargers, as the Steelers gave up 472 total yards to quarterback Justin Herbert.  His presence directly felt on a number of plays, including miscommunication on the game-winning 53-yard touchdown pass with 2:09 remaining in the game.

The 25-year-old twice had 10 tackle games, both wins, and has played every snap but one this season.

Steelers play at Cincinnati on Sunday at 1p.
