According to Antonio Browns’ “CTESPN” on “X” the former Steelers wide receiver has filed for bankruptcy.
According to the Times Union in Albany, New York, Brown says his assets are currently worth $50,000.
According to professional athlete contract-tracking website Over the Cap, Brown’s career earnings add up to over $88.2 million (before taxes and other fees).
The news comes, according to court documents filed in Florida, Brown owes almost $3 million to nearly 10 creditors, including a owing over $1 million to a moving company driver who sued Brown after a claim of assault, a $100k fine over a sexual assault case and more.
Last year, Brown bought over 47 percent of the Albany Empire arena football team. That ended quickly after the team was kicked out of the National Arena League because Brown did not pay a fine.
It was also reported that Brown did not pay employees of the Empire.
The 35-year-old Brown played in the NFL for 12 seasons, with nine of those in Pittsburgh with the Steelers.
Brown’s NFL Career abruptly ended when he took off most of his Tampa Bay Bucs uniform during a game in New York against the Jets during a game toward the end of the 2021 NFL season.
