Good friend of Tomlin says he's 'done' coaching

Speaking to the media earlier this week, Steelers owner Art Rooney II said that outgoing Steelers coach Mike Tomlin wasn’t planning on coaching in 2026.

Now, a good friend of Tomlin says he believes he is done coaching… for good.

Speaking during his show through WFLA News, Ronde Barber said he thinks Tomlin has coached his last game in the NFL.

“Mike’s a friend man,” said Barber. “He’s like family to me. We vacation every year and there’s a lot of stories out there about Mike coming up and wanted to take one year off and go coach. I’m going to tell you right now . . . I think he’s done, I think he wants to be done.”

Barber adds he was with Tomlin in New York last year and “he told me then, I think this is my last year.”

Barber says he was in Pittsburgh for Monday night’s loss to the Texans because “I wanted to be there for the last one, because I was there for the first one,” just in case they lost, which they did.

Taking a shot at Steelers fans, Barber added that he thinks they were a little ungrateful toward the end of his tenure.

No official word on Tomlin’s future has been announced.
