PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – On Ben Roethlisberger's big night, tailback Najee Harris with a milestone of his own. The rookie is the first Steeler since Le'Veon Bell in 2017 to amass 1,000 rushing yards in a season.

It was a six-yard run on the second possession that got Harris into four digits.  He said earlier in the week what getting to 1,000 yards would mean to him.

"I sit in my house and think about that to," Harris said Friday.  "I don't know.  I think it's a good milestone.  I don't know if it would really mean something the way I got the thousand yards.  It's an ugly thousand yards.  It's a good milestone."

The last Steelers rookie to pass 1,000 yards was Franco Harris in 1972 with 1,055 yards in 14 games in 1972.  Harris is just the ninth different Steeler to have a thousand-yard season.  Harris had seven of them in his career, Jerome Bettis had six-both are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.  Bell and Willie Parker each did it three times, John Henry Johnson and Rashard Mendenall twice and Rocky Bleier once.

"When you are there and you are in the moment, you want to do more than get 1,000 yards," Harris said.  "It's how about you get to 1,000 yards is different than you imagined."
