Out of the Steelers three AFC North rivals, it’s the Baltimore Ravens that actually earn the most respect.
A take that Joe Starkey’s producer, Austin “City Limits” Bechtold got a lot of attention this week.
Bechtold said what he likes about the Steelers/Ravens rivalry is the respect that both teams have for each other.
“You hate Cincinnati, you hate Cleveland, you respect Baltimore,” said Bechtold.
Donny Football says he can see where “City Limits” is coming from because both teams are usually so evenly matched.
Even thought the Steelers have last seven of the last three games against Baltimore, going back to 2020, the past eight games have been decided by a touchdown or less.
“I feel like you can hate while also respecting an opponent,” said Donny.
“I think with Cleveland, it’s a city of losers, with Cincinnati, it’s mostly a city of losers . . . with Baltimore I can at least look at that team and think ‘okay, they’ve had success since their beginning’,” added Donny.
Starkey disagrees and thinks the hatred outweighs any respect between the two fanbases and had has witnessed chaos in the stands at M&T Bank Stadium.
Bechtold says he just doesn’t respect the Bengals and Browns the way he does the Ravens; doesn’t mean he doesn’t hate them…
“Respect is not the word that comes to mind on a Ravens Friday, is it for you out there?” asked Starkey. “What are we doing?!”
