Steelers defensive tackle Cam Heyward is at the NFL combine to support his brother Connor Heyward out of Michigan State University.

Talking to NFL Network on Thursday Heyward gave his thoughts on the quarterback situation.
He quickly mentioned Mason Rudolph and Dwayne Haskins and that “they’ve shown they can play at the next level.”
But.
Heyward said there are other options available as well, mentioning names like Kenny Pickett and Malik Willis.
Another option is free agency with Heyward talking up Teddy Bridgewater, Jamis Winston and Jacoby Brissett.
And of course the Steelers could trade for a quarterback, but as Heyward says it would cost some “draft capital.”
Asked if he would prefer a veteran quarterback that could help them win now (He is 32-years-old), Heyward said, “who’s says a rookie quarterback can’t win.”
Heyward believes the Steelers already have the defensive and offensive parts to be successful, even with a first-year.
“Most teams don’t have a Najee Harris running the ball, (Chase) Claypool or Diontae Johnson,” said Heyward. “On defense we have a monster group, I feel like you got the Defensive Player of the Year (T.J. Watt), you got Minkah Fitzpatrick, you have myself, Stephon Tuitt, Tyson Alualu, combine that all together, that is winning success, you just got to have a quarterback.”
Notice that he mentioned Tuitt, who’s future is still unknown, but there have been reports that he could come back in 2022 after the sudden death of his brother and dealing with a knee injury.
