PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – As first reported by 93.7 The Fan’s Andrew Fillipponi, many others confirming the Steelers will play Christmas Day this season against the World Champion Chiefs. You won’t see it on free TV unless you live in the Pittsburgh market.
NFL has signed a deal with Netflix to broadcast the two Christmas games. In the news release from the league, it says ‘Netflix has an early Christmas gift for you’. It may not be for the Steelers fans who haven’t subscribed to the on-line service.
There will be no other way to see it other than buying the service if you live out of the Pittsburgh Metro. NFL calls Netflix ‘the global home’ of the Christmas games. They claim NFL on Christmas ‘has become a tradition’ and their partnering with Netflix is ‘the perfect combination to grow this event globally for NFL fans’.
