There's a good chance that backup quarterback Mason Rudolph starts with Ben Roethlisberger still in the Steelers' COVID protocol and yet there hasn't been any communication between the two.
It's been four seasons and Rudolph and Roethlisberger appear to have little to no relationship.
The Fan Morning Show discussed their relationship or lack thereof Friday morning and wondered if Ben is either still upset they drafted him in the third round of the 2018 draft or if he feels somewhat threatened.
"When the defense is on the field, watch were Ben is, he's by himself or he's talking to Dobbs, he's never with Rudolph, his backup," said Colin Dunlap. "You watch other teams in timeouts or when the defense on the field, the starter is incessantly consulting with the backup."
As Chris Mack points out, Aaron Rodgers isn't happy the Packers drafted Jordan Love, but you still see them talking on the sidelines.
"If you're mason Rudolph and you've seen for the last four years that Ben Roethlisberger wants nothing to do with him, are you all that inclined to check in on him right now?" asked Chris Mack.
They don't' have to be best friends but it would be nice is the guy who could be potentially playing on Sunday knew at least a little more than we knew.
Listen to the whole conversation:
