Retired Steelers guard turned radio show host, Ramon Foster says JuJu Smith-Schuster’s latest comments about Sam Darnold made him cringe.
Earlier this week on the “All Things Covered” podcast with Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden, Steelers wide receiver Smith-Schuster said of former USC teammate and New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold, “if we could get him to Pittsburgh, I would.”
“I saw that and a cringed, I’m not going to lie,” said Foster. “I cringed because when you have a franchise guy in Ben (Roethlisberger) who Ben said he isn’t going anywhere anytime soon and JuJu’s up for a contract year that says a whole lot about . . . I don’t know I wouldn’t have said it,” said Foster.
Seeing as their connection was so strong in college, Smith-Schuster would be open to a reunion should the Jets decide to part ways with Darnold.
"But I love Ben so it is what it is...
I'm just saying, man, he's a great kid. I played with him, so he's one of my boys... I wouldn't mind playing with him again."
Foster adds maybe JuJu said it in “jest.”
