PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Steelers fans have been frustrated and upset, can’t remember a time when they ever booed Renegade or had so many chant ‘Fire Tomlin’ at Acrisure Stadium. What Mike Tomlin and the team said about the reactions at home.

“Man, I share their frustration tonight,” Tomlin said postgame. “We didn't do enough. That's just the reality of it.”

Tomlin called it ‘an awful performance’.

Captain TJ Watt said it sucked and they need to have tough conversations, again. They each need to look within, again. He said he’s not focused on the fan’s frustrations, rather what they can do to be a better defense.

“That's part of it,” said quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who heard boos directed at his play. “They pay money for a ticket. So they have the right -- good, bad, or indifferent -- to say what they want. I totally understand the frustration.

I've been booed on offense even at Green Bay over the years. That was a boo worthy performance, and I understand the frustration.”

“We aren’t meeting the standard,” said wide receiver Calvin Austin. “This team has a standard that when it takes the field, fans are expecting to see a certain thing and it’s our duty to provide that. It’s as simple as that. As fans they come to cheer us on, support us, but we aren’t giving them nothing to cheer about.”

“Crowd can do what they want,” said captain Cam Heyward. “We have a job to do and didn’t do it well enough.”

“Disheartening that we are not putting a product on the field the fans are proud of,” said tight end Pat Freiermuth. “I get their frustration. We got to be better on the field for them to buy in. It sucks.”
