PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Looks like there could be a change on the offensive line for the playoff game in Baltimore. An injury has cropped up to a rookie, but all other news is good for Saturday night.
Rookie starting guard Mason McCormick is questionable with a broken hand and has been limited all week in practice. Look for second-year offensive lineman Spencer Anderson to start in his place.
"Obviously it's been awhile, like I said the other day, you got to be ready whenever your number is called regardless, something could happen in the middle of the game," Anderson said.
When McCormick got the job following James Daniels season-ending injury, Anderson said he could have been mad or sad about it. He said he wouldn't allow himself to be immature. The 24-year-old said that's not the person he is and that's not in his character. Anderson has played in 25 career games with four starts. In practice he's played every spot on the field.
A quick aside, Anderson's mom was born and raised in Baltimore, but Spencer said she's always been a Cowboys fan, until her son became a Steeler.
Defensive captain Cam Heyward was back full saying he's played through illness against Cincinnati, he said he's finally about to put the flu behind him.
"Guys have been focused all week," Heyward said. "There has been attention to detail, but you are only measured if you win the game. Fingers crossed that we are dotting our 'I's' and crossing our 't's'."
Corner Donte Jackson has been full all week in practice and cleared to play through his back injury. Tight end MyCole Pruitt is dealing with a knee injury, did not practice Wednesday, but cleared to play. Kicker Chris Boswell missed the last two days with an illness but is listed as full go for Saturday.
