Mike Tomlin drops in CBS coach rankings heading into 2025

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Typically loved and lauded by national media, a recent ranking shows a steep downturn in how CBS Sports views Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.

Tomlin nearly dropped out of the Top 10 landing at number 10 starting his 19th season as Steelers coach after being the sixth-best coach entering last season.

CBS Sports notes Tomlin defies the odds by constantly getting into the post-season, but he’s run into a wall with eight years of postseason duds.

They said they put all of their eggs into 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers and ‘that may be worthwhile and/or entertaining but also speaks to his desperation.’

Here are the top 10 coaches

9. Kevin O’Connell-Minnesota

8. Matt LaFleur-Green Bay

7. Kyle Shanahan-San Francisco

6. Jim Harbaugh-Chargers

5. Dan Campbell-Detroit

4. Nick Sirianni-Philadelphia

3. John Harbaugh-Baltimore

2. Sean McVay-Rams

1. Andy Reid-Kansas City
