PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) After collecting 10 tackles in against the Buffalo Bills in Week 1, Minkah Fitzpatrick joined the Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday.
During the interview, Fitzpatrick discussed what it was like being traded from the Miami Dolphins to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Fitzpatrick stated that the move was bittersweet, having family in the area and enjoying the Florida area, but knew Pittsburgh was a great opportunity.
"Business is business… When I found out it was the Steelers I was excited."
To acquire the skilled defender, the Steelers sent Miami a first round draft pick, and the team allowed him to play his game.
"When I got here they just said to play ball… and that took a weight off my shoulders. I just have to go out and show why they used a first round pick on me."
Since joining the Steelers, Fitzpatrick has collected 89 tackles and nine interceptions in 31 games.
You could say he has been worth the first round pick already.
With 10 tackles in his first game of the 2021 NFL season, the expectations are off to a hot start for Fitzpatrick.
When talking about the season in front of them, Fitzpatrick said that Ben Roethlisberger will be the guy to lead the team to greatness.
"I think he's been slept on since he's been in the league... He has a great arm and is a great player. I think he looks even better now than before his surgery."
