The 2021 NFL Draft is not even a month behind us but draft predictions for 2022 are already starting to come out.
CBS Sports has revealed their first mock of next year’s draft using Super Bowl odds from SportsLine.
They have the Steelers picking 13th overall and taking quarterback Spencer Rattler out of Oklahoma.
Ratter is a 6”1’,205lbs redshirt sophomore from Phoenix, Arizona.
In 14 games played last season and in 2019, Rattler has gone 221 for 328 in passing attempts, throwing 3,112 yards for 29 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
Josh Edwards who wrote the piece for CBS says, “I am not totally sold on Spencer Rattler, but it would be foolish to forge a headstrong opinion on any 2022 draft prospect right now. Pittsburgh should be in the market for a quarterback and Rattler could be in the mix.”
The Sooners won the 2020 Big XII Championship beating Iowa State 27-21. Rattler went 22-27 with 272 yards and one touchdown.
Oklahoma then went on to beat Florida in the Cotton Bowl 55-20.
Rattler went 14 for 23 in that game with 247 yards and three touchdowns.
Tons of things will change before the next draft is upon us, but it's never too early to start predicting.
