PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – It's a formality in today's NFL, but Steelers signed first round pick, running back Najee Harris to his rookie 4 year contract with a team option for a fifth season.
Harris will make just over $13 million over the four seasons including a $6.85 million signing bonus.
The Alabama All-American finished as the school's all-time leading rusher, all-time leader in touchdowns and second in all-purpose yards. He won the Doak Walker Award presented to the top running back in college football.
"A lot of what they are doing in their offense resembles what we did," Harris said of comparing the Steelers offense to Alabama. "Putting the players in the best position to make a play. Really not doing too much thinking, just fast playing."
Harris said there is a lot more film work than in college, noting he doesn't have schoolwork to worry about anymore.
