Could there be a Pitt reunion a week from today, when the Steelers select 17th overall in the NFL Draft? One CBS Sports draft expert believes it's possible.
In his latest mock draft, Chris Trapasso has the Steelers selecting USC wide receiver Jordan Addison.
While the Steelers are reportedly adding wide receiver depth with the trade of Allen Robinson, Trapasso feels that giving Kenny Pickett a familiar target could make magic in Pittsburgh.
Trapasso writes: "If there's a team to pick Addison in the first round, shouldn't it be the Steelers, to pair Addison with Kenny Pickett? Absolutely."
With Pitt, Addison won the Biletnikoff Award as the NCAA's top wide receiver in 2021, when he was a consensus All-American following a season in which he caught 100 passes for 1,593 yards and 17 touchdowns.
Pickett, his quarterback with the Panthers, was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy that season. Addison, following the 2021 season, transferred to USC. He caught 59 passes for 875 yards and eight touchdowns in 11 games last year.
NFL.com gave Addison a grade of 6.36 based on his work at the NFL Combine in March, the seventh-best mark for a wide receiver. His 4.49 second 40-yard dash time was the 21st best mark.
