PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – When was the last time Najee Harris went over 100 yards? How TJ Watt matched his age today? A career-high for Queen are part of the notes. Plus some of the best quotes like ‘more fish to fry’ after the Steelers beat Las Vegas 32-13 on Sunday.
Najee over 100
Fourth-year tailback Najee Harris had his first 100-yard game of the season, finishing with 106 yards on only 14 carries. His previous 100-yard game was this year, but last season, finishing with 112 yards on 26 careers on January 6 against the Ravens.
Boswell 4 for 4
Kicker Chris Boswell made all four field goal attempts with the second-most of the season. Boswell went six-for-six in Atlanta on the season opener. It’s the 11th time the Boswell has made at least four field goals in one game.
Frazier injury
Steelers rookie center Zach Frazier has had great grades by Pro Football Focus. He had to leave the game with an ankle injury after it was rolled up on. Ryan McCullum served as the replacement.
30 for 30
Two days after he turned 30-years-old, TJ Watt also got his 29th and 30th forced fumble. A key strip that led to a 4th and goal touchdown run by Justin Fields. The second stopped the Raiders on third-and-goal from the Steelers one-yard line. James Harrison holds the all-time record with 33. The next closest active players are Alex Highsmith and Cam Heyward with eight each.
200 for Cam
Sunday was the 200th career game for defensive captain Cam Heyward. The team’s second all-time leading sacker with 83.5, also has 124 tackles for loss, 187 quarterback hits, 47 passes defended, eight forced fumbles and two interceptions. He tied Mel Blount for fifth most all-time, with one more game will tie Donnie Shell for fourth with Ben Roethlisberger the all-time leader with 249. With the sack Sunday, Heyward is also one shy of James Harrison for 69th place on the NFL all-time list.
Moon block
Never before in his career did Jeremiah Moon block a punt, not in college or high school either. He said he just came scot free and figured the Raiders were worried about making sure they blocked All-Pro Miles Killebrew. He called it a blessing from God. The Steelers would turn that into three points to take the lead to eight.
Queen paid his dues
After two tackles his first game with the Steelers, middle linebacker Patrick Queen reached double figures for the first time in black and gold with 13 (6 solo, 7 assists). It matched a career high also accomplished on December 19, 2021 against Green Bay.
